Malaysia is voting for the planet Earth by turning of their light switches for an hour, in recognition of Earth Hour. This perfectly brilliant effort is part of a worldwide campaign to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions by organized, concerted direct action - in this case, turning off the lights. It makes such sense. This is something we all can do. Even better when a government authority gets on-board.
Thanks to the Aussies who dreamed up the Earth Hour campaign in Sydney in 2007; and to all the individuals, communities, regions and states that have signed-on. Global grass-roots actions are very impressive. A note to recalcitrant politicians and governments, the people are behind this effort to save the planet. On March 28 you can VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights for one hour.
Or you can vote global warming by leaving your lights on.The results of the election are being presented at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. We want one billion votes for Earth, to tell world leaders that we have to take action against global warming.

Thanks for promoting Earth Hour. The new Vote Earth 2009 global website has launched. There is an element on the site that incorporates Google’s Friend Connect and we want to get 1 billion people on the site by November 2009, just before Copenhagen.
