North Korea's Famine - A Rare View

The secretive North Korean regime, recently in the news as the new leader ascended to power, is one of the Western World's thorniest problems. Armed with nuclear weapons and in a state-of-war with our ally South Korean, the communist dictatorship appear prepared to let its own people starve, if necessary, to keep foreign influence out of the country. The subject of many jokes due to low-regard for the ruling Kim family and the aging generals that support it, the current famine is no laughing matter. It is also not easy to assess and address for international relief organizations, as the video below demonstrates. With a missle-launch scheduled for mid-April to commemorate the centenary of Kim rule, and Japan threatening to shoot-down any unauthorized launch over their airspace, North Korea is going to dominate international news for a while.
